Hi everyone.  I am a 30 year old man with an 8 month old daughter.  I have been with my wife for a little over a year now, and we have been having problems.  To give a little back story on me, I am a US Marine who has been diagnosed with PTSD and Anxiety, and sometimes this causes me to hold things in because I am afraid of looking like a pussy.  Anyway, I was looking for an open forum to discuss some of my problems with others who may be in the same boat, and hopefully help me through this.

Your wife will understand, and honestly she probably wants you to talk more about your feelings. I know with guys, you don't like talking about feelings or anything, but women love it. And they especially love when their men feel comfortable enough with them to confide in them about it. My husband is in the military also, and he doesn't like talking about feelings either. But when he does, I still have the same amount of respect for him, if not more, and it really increases our relationship.

If there is anything you want to talk with your wife about...you should definitely do it. She will love you for it.

Also, I am so sorry about the PTSD and anxiety. Counseling might really help that. I know it doesn't sound very manly, but it really is a very good thing despite all the connotations of that word. And no one will think less of you as a person for getting it. You go to a doctor for your physical health when you are sick, so going to a counselor for your mental health and overall well being can be just as helpful, and usually incredibly more helpful, than medicines.

I'm a military wife and I agree with what Kimberly said.  I know everybody is different, but it is nice as a wife to be able to support my husband in anyway possible.  It is better to get help from a counselor at the beginning of a problem instead of after it has gotten bigger than anyone can handle Tear hair out Frustrated!.
