Hello,

My wife and I have been together for 22years and married 17years of that 22.  It has had a lot of wonderful moments and of course it has had it’s troubled times.

So here we are now, finding our self with a lot of resentment and blame.  We have chosen to attend Joe's marriage workshop, we will be leaving all of our distraction here in Dallas, i.e. kids, jobs, friends, outside influences.  I find myself really struggling with some current resentment this week and I really feel that I need to burrier this before attend this workshop, I want to get the most from this workshop.

Can anyone that has attended one of Joe's workshop please give me some insight on how me and my wife will get the most from this workshop?  We are both very committed to our marriage as well as ourselves.

Make it a great day

If your both committed, you are already ahead of the game.

I suggest being open to the Love Path, it really works.

Participate and be open and honest in your breakout group.  You will be surprised what you will learn about yourself and your spouse.

God bless you both.

Come ready to be honest and share with the group.

It's amazing how powerful the seminars are.

Don't feel like you need to be rid of the resentment before the workshop. The workshop is designed to help you through all of that.

Fully engage in the workshop and just let God do His work in you.

We were where you are now just a little over a month ago.  This is the best thing we have ever done for ourselves in 34 years.  It was hard but the easiest thing we have done. Joe and the breakout groups just have a way of putting things into perspective in your lives. Don't try to put resentment away before you leave and attend the class.  Thats one of the reasons you are going. Just go.  I will be looking forward to your comments when you get through with the class.

My friends here have said exactly what I would say....just go.  Do not feel or expect that you should have the resentment issue addressed before you go to the workshop.  Don't worry - this will not interfere with what you get out of the workshop.  In fact, it may even enhance what you get out of it.

Blessings to you!

I totally agree with EVERYTHING that has been said! You don't have to get rid of or set aside the resentment. That's one of the reasons you need the workshop in the first place. Just go with an open mind so you'll be open to make changes and make sure you listen and hear what your spouse has to say during the breakout sessions. But most of all, be open to let God work a miracle in your marriage.

That's my advice. I pray that this weekend will be the turn-around point in your marriage.

If you let it, starting today.... (I think today is the first day of the seminar) it will be a turn around.  I remember we went home mentally exhausted.  We had a few rough spots in the break out rooms. Don't be afraid everyone is in the same  boat just a little different story.  Miracles can happen when you least expect it. I am praying for all of you this weekend.  To quote an inspiration " Come on now get up and fill those chairs. I'm not talking until you do."  :)

we did attend this past weekend and all i can say is we both opened our hearts and accepted a miracle.  life feels so wonderful and we plan on staying on this track for sure!  thank you all for your prayers as i am sure that it did help.  we have such a new hope now.  learned so many wonderful ways to 're-frame' our experiences.  we are both so thankful that the horses are back in the barn!

there is so much we want to share with others and we look forward to participating on this forum often.  joe and alice are truly an inspiration and just about the most wonderful people we have had the honor to meet.

Congradulations,
Miracles do happen.  I am so glad that you went.  It is something that is hard to explain to someone that has not attended before.  We will keep you in our prayers,

Awesome! Wonderful news!

This forum was built as a way to help couples who attended the seminar get encouragement. My wife and I attended the seminar as well so we're here for that too.

So glad the seminar did great things for your marriage!

Yes my husband and I have attended go with any type of mindset you'd like because I promise it will change! The truly best way to get the most out of it though is to be prayerful and open-minded, don't go with the hopes of working on your spouse, go in hopes of working on yourself! Also too, read as many of Joe's books as possible when you get home...it won't happen over night but if you apply what you've learned you will stay married and be truly happy for the 1st time ever!

I would suggest going before the Lord and lifting your voice, opening your heart and mind in order to be receptive of the miracle that can be placed before you!

My husband and I attended the September workshop. Although he and I are not experiencing any particular issues, what we left with was a feeling of our committment to each other. Realizing that teamwork in a marriage is vitally important.
