New to this forum and I have a question...............

My wife of almost 20 years (will be 20 years in June) have gone through our real first bump in our marriage.  Due to some anxious feelings and insecurity on my part, back in January, I accused her of something she did not do.  As you can imagine, that hurt her to the core.

Well, fast forward to the present........I am still dealing with some anxious feelings but am in counseling right now to help.  Last Thursday evening, my wife said that she needed some space from me right now.  What does that look like?  Should I spend some time on the couch?  My first instinct is to hold her, kiss her, be with her, but according to my counselor, I need to let her dictate what she wants and when she wants it for the time being.

Anyone else dealing with a similar situation??
