Frequent sexual intercourse may cut down on a man's chances of developing erectile dysfunction, Finnish researchers report.

"This is the same as any other part of the body. It's what we in vascular surgery refer to as the 'use it or lose it' concept," said Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad, an associate professor of urology at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School Hackensack University Medical Center. "Sexual activity will promote maintenance of normal erectile function down the line."

The report was published in the July issue of The American Journal of Medicine. Source.

It should be noted that unique blood flow required for sex is not male-specific and that if a female is having trouble reaching orgasm it can also be from the 'use it or lose it' scenario.

Equally of note is that Practice, Practice, Practice can successfully reverse the lack of blood flow in both men and women.

Yes, I've found that the more sex I have with hubby the easier it is to get there (the big "O"). It also helps if I get myself there sometimes during the day.

I mean think about it, when we're hungry, we grab a snack or know that we'll be eating very soon. So the brain knows that the chemicals it produces to make us feel hungry work. However, I have friends who have fasted for long periods of time (2 weeks and more) and they say that eventually you stop feeling the hunger.

I think it's safe to say that the same goes for sex. If we push away that urge we feel, eventually it can go away of shrink. I don't want it to go away. I think it's funny that so many times when we start to have sex I think to myself, "We should do this more often!" So I've learned that I need to use my head with this! So most of the time, when I feel the urge, I try to do something about it if at all possible so that my brain keeps those hormones coming! It makes sense to me.

It does make sense. I also think that if you don't use it then it goes away.

That's pretty much all I had to say. grin Just wanted to agree
